Meet February's Featured Knights!
Senior of the Month: Annie
Rose Kaufman
Annie has been in Ars Nova for two years. Before then, she was in
Singing Knights and Queen's Court. She attended Sheridan
Elementary and then Irving Middle School, where she participated in
"Inspirations". She also sings with a group at Lincoln Berean
Church called "Consecrated". Besides singing, she plays cello,
saxophone, and piano.
Annie's parents are Kim and Harvey. She has a sister named Casey who goes to school in Omaha, and a brother, Cody, who is a freshman at LSE. Annie works at Colby Ridge/Goodrich and at Madsens Bowling and Billiards. She also enjoys drawing, making short movies, traveling, video games, and baseball.
What do you like about singing in choir?
I love performing on stage. I get an adrenaline rush when the audience cheers us on.
Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places:
Alaska, elephants, roller coasters, New York, and clearance sales.
What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
I'd like to improve our government.
Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
I want to live in Ireland after college.
Junior of the Month: Tyler
Summerlin

Junior of the Month: Tyler
Summerlin
Tyler is currently in Countesses & Noblemen and Court
Choir. In previous years he was in Singing Knights and then
Knight Sounds. Before coming to LSE, he attended Sheridan,
Auburn, and Irving Schools. Besides singing in LSE choirs, Tyler
has participated in choirs at Auburn and Irving, the Lincoln Boys'
Choir, and Church choir/band. He plays French Horn, trumpet,
mellophone, piano, and drums. While at LSE, he has earned two
band letters.
Tyler's parents are Les (a pharmacist) and Laura (a preschool teacher). His siblings are Derek (18), Beth (13), Jake, (10), Sami (3), and Gabe (1). Tyler's interests include playing with his little brother and sister, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
What do you like about singing in choir?
I can express myself and I have fun on stage.
Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places:
Food, the ocean, Aunt Natalie, sharks, and my friends.
How we always have to be on our guard so we don't get hurt (like by terrorism or crime).
Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
When I was 3 I was burned. I have skin grafting. I am a peer mediator. I work at Steve & Barry's. I am 16 and I want to be a burn specialist.
Sophomore of the Month:
Hillari Apking
Tyler's parents are Les (a pharmacist) and Laura (a preschool teacher). His siblings are Derek (18), Beth (13), Jake, (10), Sami (3), and Gabe (1). Tyler's interests include playing with his little brother and sister, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
What do you like about singing in choir?
I can express myself and I have fun on stage.

she attended North American Martyrs, St. Teresa's, and Lefler Middle
School. In middle school she participated in Lefler Lions Choir
and the All City Girl's Choir. She also plays the
saxophone. Other music experiences include participating in
"Lewis & Clark Expedition" and earning a choir letter.
Hillari's mom, Vonda, works for the state, and her dad, David, works for a linen service. Her siblings are sisters Abby (12) and Maddie (8), and brother Mason, (2). The family also includes Molly Su, a weiner dog. When she's not singing, Hillari enjoys marching band, MySpace, and hanging out with friends.
What do you like about singing in choir?
I love to sing. I have loved every minute of making new friends and challenging myself vocally.

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
I would like to have less annoying little sisters. And I would like to learn how to play the guitar.

I always give 110% to whatever I'm doing. Also, I am a perfectionist and am very organized. I love to make new friends.

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
More Anarchy, less laws.
