Meet January's Featured Knights!



Senior of the Month:  Emilie Bouvier

    Emilie is currently in Court Choir and is a co-president of Bel Canto.  Previous LSE choirs include Queen's Court and Singing Knights.  Before coming to Southeast, she when to Southern Elementary, Humann, Elementary, and Pound Middle School.  She is also very active in her Church choirs and musicals, plays piano, and takes voice lessons.  While at Southeast, she has learned a vocal music letter and 2 bars.
    Emilie's parents are Greg, a Pastor at Sheridan Lutheran, and Rose, who has organized our last two Madrigal Dinners.  She also has a brother named Alex, and two cats:  Kitty and Billy.  Besides singing, she also enjoys photography, piano, and art.

What do you like about singing in choir?
   
It's so much fun!  Whether you're in a big group or small group you get to know other people and their voices, and all work together to produce a beautiful pice of music.

Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places:
   
My camera, Paris, my parents, hot coffee, and my Bible.

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
   
I'd like more people to recycle.  It's really not that hard and it can make a big difference!

Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
   
I love choir a lot.  I don't know how I would make it through the school day without it!


Junior of the Month:  Samantha Davis

    Samantha is in her second year in Queen's Court, and was previously in Singing Knights.  She has a music letter from last year, and is also active in choir at Westminster Church.  Before coming to LSE, she was active in choirs at Rousseau Elementary and Pound Middle School.  She also used to play the flute.
    Samantha's father, Mark, works with Lincoln Fire and Rescue and owns a lawn business, Greenstar Services.  Her mother, Vicki, is a computer system specialist at Madonna Rehab Hospital.  Her brother, Jefferson, is a freshman at Southeast.  The family also includes 3 cats: Nala, Abby, and Alex, and a dog named Regina.  Samantha works for a face and body painting company, and also loves playing Southeast and summer softball.

What do you like about singing in choir?
   
It gives me a break in my day.  It's my favorite class and it makes me happy and excited about my day.

Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places: 
    My parents, Toronto, New York City, Rachel Ray, and Philmont, New Mexico.

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
   
Air pollution--less of it would stop Global Warming.

Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
    
I want to go to college at UNL and to become a Forensic Scientist.


Sophomore of the Month:  Rachel Schutte

    Rachel is in Excalibur, and was in Singing Knights last year.  She went to Beattie Elementary, and then to Irving Middle School, where she sang in regular choir and girls' choir.  In addition to singing, she also plays piano and has played flute.
    Rachel's mother, Amy, works at Union Bank.  Her father, Gale, works for Farm Bureau.  She also has a brother named Nate.  Rachel also enjoys babysitting and hanging with her friends and family.

What do you like about singing in choir?
   
Meeting a lot of new people and Mrs. Moore!

Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places:
   
Shopping, my dad, the mall, soccer, and friends.

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
   
My grades.  My goal is to make honor roll.

Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
    
That I love SOUTHEAST!!



Freshman of the Month:  Kate Cole

    Kate is in Singing Knights, and also plays drums in band.  Before coming to Southeast, she went to Irving Middle School.  She also sings in a band.
    Kate's parents are Kris and Tom.  She also has a sister named Jessica, and two brothers, Matt and Jake.  Pets include two cats named Max and Adam, and Spazz the Hedgehog.  Kate is a member of the Zoo Crew, and also loves photography, dancing, singing, and playing drums.

What do you like about singing in choir?
   
Getting to excel with my voice and learn how to change it.

Name some of your favorite things, people, and/or places:
   
Drums, my BFF Emily Hruza, Dancing, Hair Dye, System of a Down

What is something you'd like to improve in your world?
   
Animal Cruelty needs to end.

Anything else you'd like people to know about you?
   
I've dyed my hair over 15 times.  I am in a band.  I am a year younger than everyone else.  I go by "Bug".  I am "Mewish" (Mormon and Jewish).
