Meet September's Featured Knights!
Senior of the Month: Dylan
Mason
Dylan is currently singing in both Ars
Nova and Court Choir. At LSE, he has also been in Singing Knights
and Excalibur, and has performed in three musicals: Beauty
and the Beast, Seussical, and Into
the Woods. Before
LSE, he attended Sheridan Elementary and Irving Middle School.
Dylan's parents
are Todd and Trista Smith and Eric and Jen Mason. He has two
younger siblings. He is also interested in Theater.
What do you
like about singing in choir?
I love
the final product when everything gels together. After that, then
all the hard work is worth it.
Name some of
your favorite things, people, and/or places:
I love
to travel, sing, work, and learn.
What is
something you'd like to improve in your world?
I want
to become a music teacher and help kids that wouldn't have an
opportunity otherwise.
Junior of the Month: Kasey Bose
Kasey is currently in
Court Choir. At LSE, she has also been in Singing Knights and
Excalibur. Before LSE, she attended Humann Elementary and Pound
Middle School. She has been in Church choir since first grade,
plays piano, and used to play the clarinet.
Kasey's parents
are Debra and Larry Bose, and she has two sisters named Katie and
Carrie. She works at Walgreens and has a dog named Toby.
Besides singing, she plays varsity softball at LSE, and also plays
summer softball.
What do you
like about singing in choir?
I love
to see my voice grow and to see others grow around me. I also
love meeting everyone in the choir.
Name some of
your favorite things, people, and/or places:
Softball,
my friends, Church youth group, singing, and California and New Mexico.
What is
something you'd like to improve in your world?
Something
I would like to improve in this world would be to slowly decrease the
number of hungry children in the U.S. and around the world.
Sophomore of the Month: Mike
Raymer
Mike is in Excalibur this
year, and was in Singing Knights last year. Before LSE, he
attended Pound Middle School, where he sang in the Eighth Grade choir.
Mike's mom,
Lori, works at the post office, and his dad works at Windstream.
Mike has one brother and two cats, Anakin and Piwackit. His
hobbies include collecting Pez dispensers and Star Wars Legos.
What do you
like about singing in choir?
I
like to sing. It feels good to express yourself through music.
Name some of
your favorite things, people, and/or places:
Family,
friends, Egypt, Greece, and my two cats.
What is
something you'd like to improve in your world?
My
singing.
Anything
else you'd like people to know about you?
I
love oldies music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. I also love to
see musicals from the 70's and 80's like Tommy, Rocky
Horror Picture Show, Pink
Floyd's The Wall, and Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. I also like some disco by the
Bee Gee's!!
Freshman of the Month: Amy Puckett
Amy is in
Singing Knights. Before this year, she went to Hartley
Elementary, then Culler for 6th and 7th grades, and Pound for 8th
grade. She plays the clarinet and tenor sax, and has been in
school and church choirs, as well as in four Church musicals.
Amy's mom, Bev, is a dietary supervisor/jewelry
salesperson. Her dad is a custodian. Amy has no siblings,
but has four cockatiels named Honey, Lindsay, Sweetie Pie, and
Sunflower (Squishy). She loves music all around, and also paints
and loves to shop. Her work experience includes detasseling.
What do you like about singing in
choir?
It is relaxing. I love music, and to
sing.
Name some of your favorite things,
people, and/or places:
Malls, music, painting, Zac Effron, and Cody
Linley.
What is something you'd like to
improve in your world?
Stop
polluting.
Anything else you'd like people to
know about you?
I love taking notes. I'm
organized. I'm lost without my cell phone and planner.
