Performance Guidelines Review

December is a very busy month, with holiday activities and performances.  It is easy to become overwhelmed during this hectic time, so here are a few reminders of our performance guidelines to help keep you on top of your schedule.
  1. You are responsible for keeping track of your own schedule.  There are several resources for checking up on your performance times and sites:
    1. The printed schedule you were given in class (make sure to note updates)
    2. The master calendar on the wall of M111
    3. The website at www.lsechoir.org (has online versions of each choir's schedule as well as a master calendar)
    4. Your own planner.  This is your resource for coordinating your choir performances with your other activities.
    5. We will try to discuss upcoming performances in class, but do not rely on this!  With all of our coming and going, you may not always get an oral reminder.  Check your own schedule every day!
     2.  On the day of a performance, make sure you have everything (outfit, shoes, etc.) ready before you start your day's activities.  You will probably not be given time to change during class (see #3), so you are responsible for figuring out the best time to change on your own.  There may be days when you will simply have to wear your outfit to school.
If you are sick on the day of a performance, you must get a message to your director ASAP, preferably first thing in the morning.  The school office number is 436-1304.  For evening or weekend performances, you can call Mrs. Noonan or Mrs. Moore at home.
Check the addresses of your performance sites well in advance so that you can figure out how to find them and how long it will take to get there.  Always give yourself plenty of time to get to performances, especially when the weather is questionable.  If you need a ride to a performance, we will try to help you find one, but don't expect us to do this at the last minute.  Plan ahead!
If an evening or weekend performance is canceled due to bad weather, every attempt will be made to contact you by phone.  In addition, an announcement will be posted on the website home page ( www.lsechoir.org ) ASAP.  If school is canceled for inclement weather, all performances for that day (including evening performances) are automatically canceled.

    3.  You must keep up in your non-music classes.  Out of respect for your other teachers (and for your own educational success), we will try to keep your out-of-class time to an absolute minimum.  Please do not attempt to leave classes earlier than the time you have been excused, and do not be late returning.  This is very important if we want to ensure your other teachers' continuing cooperation.
Your teachers have been encouraged to contact us if they have concerns about you missing their class, and they do have the option of requiring you to stay in class.  Please do not put yourselves and your classmates in this position!  We need you at every performance, so keep your teachers happy!

Good luck!
